Chicago Sun times reports a 20-year-old Bellwood man was charged with murder in an armed robbery that turned fatal in northwest suburban Bensenville last month.

Kenneth Bardlett was charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of attempted armed robbery, according to a news release from the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s office.

The charges stem from the Jan. 19 robbery and shooting death of Hussein Saghir, a clerk at Sam’s Tobacco and Food Mart in Bensenville, authorities said.
Saghir, 36, of Chicago, was working at Sam’s Tobacco and Food Mart, at 235 W. Irving Park Rd., when he was shot about 6 p.m., according to a release from Bensenville police.
